Outstanding Journal Article of the Year
in Visual Communication
VCSD is calling for nominations for our Outstanding Journal Article of the Year in Visual Communication award. This award is meant for a journal article on visual communication published in the last calendar year, i.e. 2024 for this year’s award, which has made an outstanding contribution to our state of knowledge about visual communication. This could be in the way of methodological, theoretical or empirical innovations and contributions, or a combination of all of these.
Applications for this award would constitute a letter of nomination sent via email to the division chair.
The email should include a link to the journal article if it is open access, or a pdf copy of the article if it is behind a publisher’s paywall.
The nomination letter should articulate the contribution of the work to the field of visual communication as well as the way it has significantly advanced our understanding in a particular area of inquiry, topic of academic debate or under-researched context within the field.
The letter should be between 300-650 words. Self-nominations are not allowed.
Deadline to apply for the 2025 Outstanding Journal Article in Visual Communication award is 1st March 2025.
