If you are a division member and would like to be considered for divisional support for the ICA Fellows nomination process for the following year then you should check that you meet the following criteria. The criteria are:
- A minimum of 10 years of membership in and a demonstrated track record of service to the ICA Visual Communication Studies Division
- Full professor or equivalent status at your institution
- A significant contribution of multiple solo-authored books or a minimum of 100 journal articles or book chapters.
A member who meets these criteria and is interested in being supported by the division in their nomination for an ICA Fellowship can email the Division Chair, Prof. Shahira S. Fahmy (📬 email: shahira.fahmy@aucegypt.edu ) to lodge an initial expression of interest on or before 1st September 2025. Please include your latest CV and a 1,000-word document outlining how you meet the ICA’s criteria for Fellowship.
The division chair will then work with the leadership team to reach out to other division members who are already ICA fellows to see if they would like to support your nomination. These ICA fellows will then consider the interested members’ contributions to the field and whether to support their nomination by writing individual or collective letters of endorsement as part of the nomination package due by ICA’s deadline. In addition to this, Division’s leadership will also consider supporting the application with a letter in addition to the possibility of existing Division-related fellows doing so. In this we will be guided by the three criteria above but also take into account the track record of service specifically to the ICA Visual Communication Studies division by the member concerned.
